In May, Berlin is pleasantly mild and one of the nicest months of the year to visit. Temperatures usually range from around 10°C in the mornings to 18–22°C during the day. You can expect a mix of sunny spring days, occasional light rain, and increasingly warm evenings – perfect for outdoor activities and events.
The main highlight of the Karneval der Kulturen is the street parade in Kreuzberg, especially along Gneisenaustraße and the surrounding area. This is where the most vibrant floats, performances, and crowds come together.
For the full festival atmosphere, head to the Blücherplatz festival grounds, where you’ll find international food stalls, live music, and cultural performances over several days.
Among the events listed earlier, some are fully or largely free, while others require tickets or an entrance fee.
