My Move-In

  • How does move-in work if I (as a new FU.Life tenant) arrive very late?

    No problem! Please contact our on-site team to plan your move-in and prepare it at a time that suits you.

  • How fully equipped are the apartments? Do I need to bring anything when moving in?

    Our apartments are fully furnished and ready to move in.
    The standard FU furnishing includes:

    • Bed
    • Desk with desk chair
    • Sufficient cabinets and shelves
    • Private bathroom with shower or bathtub, large sink, and mirror
    • Private kitchenette or kitchen with stovetop(s), refrigerator, microwave, and sink
    • Depending on booking, a balcony
  • Is there a minimum rental period for the apartments?

    No, there is no minimum rental period.

  • Do I need to register with the local residents’ registration office? (Registration)

    Yes! Anyone moving into a new apartment long-term in Germany must register with the registration office within two weeks. Registration can be done in person or online via this link. When you take over your new apartment, you will receive a confirmation from us, which you will need to register at your new residence.

  • Do I pay the GEZ (broadcasting) fees myself?

    The GEZ is included in the rent. However, in general, every apartment requires a broadcasting contribution. There is an exception for secondary residences. We recommend contacting the ARD ZDF Deutschlandradio Contribution Service (https://www.rundfunkbeitrag.de) for the latest information and guidance on all topics related to the broadcasting fee.

  • Are additional utilities included in my rent?

    Yes! All operating costs for water, electricity, and internet are included in your all-inclusive rent. No additional costs apply.

  • How does the move-in process for my apartment work?

    During your move-in appointment, when all apartment keys are handed over to you, we will complete a handover protocol together. You will receive this signed by us immediately afterward and can keep it in your records.

My Stay

  • When is check-in and check-out?

    Standard check-in is from 3:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM. Need flexibility? Just let us know in advance – we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

  • How do I access the building and my apartment?

    Before your arrival, you will receive detailed instructions with your booking confirmation, including your personal access code. You can enter the building and your apartment safely and easily using your smartphone. The process is contactless, so you can check in anytime after the official check-in time.Your apartment door is opened via the Häfele Access App. Simply download the app, register, and use your smartphone as a digital key. This allows you to quickly and securely open your apartment door.Download the app before arrival:

    Inside the building, there is a wayfinding system showing the location of your apartment. The easiest way is to take the elevator in the entrance area.

  • Do I need to clean my apartment myself?

    Your apartment will be fully cleaned and prepared with fresh bed linen and towels upon arrival.

    • For long-term guests: Cleaning and linen/towel changes take place every 14 days.
    • For short-term guests: Cleaning and linen/towel changes take place weekly.

    Additional service: If you want extra cleaning during your stay, please contact us – we’ll arrange it for you.

  • Which bathroom amenities are provided?

    Your apartment includes high-quality cosmetic and care products from HAIL Europe, provided fresh upon arrival. Refills are done according to your cleaning schedule.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Your pets are welcome – please let us know in advance!

  • Is there a house rule I need to follow?

    Yes, and it is a part of your rental agreement. By signing the rental contract, you agree to always comply with the house rules.

  • Can guests stay overnight in my apartment?

    Absolutely! Feel free to invite friends. The only rule is that you are responsible for your guests and ensuring they follow the house rules.

  • Can I hang my own pictures?

    Yes, you can decorate your apartment as you like. Just make sure to restore it to its original condition when you move out.

  • Are there washing machines and dryers in the building?

    Yes, there are washing machines and dryers in our laundry room, which tenants can use for a small fee per wash.

  • Where should I dispose of trash?

    In Germany, waste separation is very important. Please use the designated bins in your apartment and the building:

    • Yellow bin: For packaging made of plastic or composite materials (e.g., Tetra Paks), metal lids, cans, aluminum foil, styrofoam, and non-deposit PET bottles. Deposit bottles can be returned to the supermarket.
    • Paper bin: For paper, old drawings, craft scraps, magazines, cardboard, and packaging boxes.
    • Residual waste: For items that cannot be recycled, such as hygiene products, broken dishes and glasses, ash, photos, and old textiles. These are incinerated.
    • Bio bin: For organic waste like kitchen and garden scraps (grass, leaves, eggshells, coffee filters, and food leftovers).
    • Glass: Use designated glass containers for bottles.

    There is a waste disposal area in the second courtyard. You need your mobile key to access it, so bring your phone with you.

  • Are there parking options near the property?

    Unfortunately, there are no private parking spaces. You can use public street parking or nearby public garages. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Who do I contact if something in my apartment is not working?

    Contact your on-site Letting Manager. Our team will ensure the issue is resolved as quickly as possible.

  • How do I receive my mail?

    You can have your mail and packages sent to the building (Kurfürstendamm 69, 10707 Berlin). Please always include your full name and your room number (as shown on your door) to ensure everything is correctly assigned and delivered.

My Move-Out

  • How can I terminate my apartment rental?

    For monthly stays, we recommend that you give notice at least one week in advance. For shorter or longer stays, you can terminate your rental with one day’s notice.

  • Can I sublet?

    Please contact our service team. Subletting is considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • How do I pay for any damages I caused in the apartment?

    In such cases, first inform our property manager. Generally, your liability insurance covers the damage.

  • Is there a price list?

    No. If you cause damage and do not have liability insurance, damaged items will be invoiced individually.

  • When will I receive my deposit back?

    If your apartment is returned in good condition, we will refund your deposit as quickly as possible. By law, we have up to six months to return it after move-out.

  • What should I consider on move-out day?

    When you move out, we ensure that:

    • All inventory is present
    • The apartment is cleaned
    • All keys are returned as described in the move-in protocol
  • Is there a move-out protocol?

    Yes! Just like your move-in, we document the apartment condition at move-out. You will receive the move-out protocol by email.

  • Where can I park my car?

    Underground garages & parking garages near your accommodation:

    • Q-Park Fürst – underground garage on Uhlandstraße (~5-minute walk).

    • Galeria Berlin Kurfürstendamm parking garage – parking garage directly on Kurfürstendamm (Rankestraße).

    • CONTIPARK Los Angeles Platz underground garage – parking garage on Rankestraße.

    • Parking lot at Kurfürstendamm 161 – small outdoor parking area.

    • Meinekestraße parking garage – garage close to Kurfürstendamm.

    A bit further away, but still easily accessible:

    • PARK ONE Kranzler Eck underground garage – parking garage at Kranzler Eck.

    • Zoo parking garage – large parking facility near Zoologischer Garten.

    • Metropole parking garage – garage on Joachimsthaler Straße.

    • Johann-Georg-Straße underground garage – underground garage slightly south of Kurfürstendamm.

    Larger parking garages with many spaces (City West):

    • CONTIPARK Europa-Center parking garage – large parking facility at Europa-Center (~10-minute walk).

    • Bikini Berlin parking garage – parking garage on Budapester Straße (near the Zoo).

    • Uhlandstraße / Kantstraße parking garage – CONTIPARK garage at Fasanenstraße / Kantstraße.

    Street parking:

    • Public street parking along Kurfürstendamm is available, but in many sections it is fee-based and time-limited (e.g. parking ticket or parking disc required). Parking management around Kurfürstendamm has been expanded since December 2025 — without a resident permit you should expect paid parking, approx. €4 per hour in parts of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

    • Short-term street parking with parking meters can be found along the main road and in side streets (always check local signage on site).

Emergency Questions

  • How do I access the building and my apartment if I lose my phone or it is stolen while traveling?

    If your phone is lost or stolen, we will set up alternative access options for you for the duration of your stay.

    You can reach us via our service hotline (+49 1511 4622046), and during regular office hours our team is on-site and happy to help you regain access to the building and your apartment.

  • Who do I call in an emergency?

    In case of an emergency, immediately inform the property manager.For emergencies outside FU.Life Berlin business hours, contact our emergency number: +49 1511 4622046

    Important: Use this number only in urgent situations, such as:

    • Complete power outage
    • Complete failure of the heating system
    • Water pipe break
